What is Linux.be's purpose?

• to promote Linux in Belgium.
• to help organize user groups
• to function as a source of resource for Linux and open source software.
• to support Belgian development of Linux and open source software.
• to promote overall computer literacy and the philosophy of open source software development.

How is Linux.be going to achieve this goal?

• by organizing Linux events and spreading information about Linux-related events.
• by creating public awareness about Linux and all open-source initiatives.
• by acquire the linux.be-domain
• by helping new user groups founding and growing.
• by offering services to projects and user groups (subdomains, emails, mailing-lists, ...)
• by mirroring open-source software.
• by encouraging open-source projects.
• by informing people and fighting corporate disinformation. Such as: Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt-campaigns (FUD)
• by getting Linux into schools and institutions.

It is important for the acceptance of Linux that we stand together in everything. Advocating Linux must be done efficiently and coherently. Intelligible and based on facts.
